Large-scale image retrieval

The LEAR team at INRIA Grenoble is looking for an engineer with a specialization in Computer Vision.

Activities

LEAR is recruiting an engineer to work on large-scale image indexing.

In the past 4 years, LEAR developed an expetise in large-scale image indexing. This was evidenced by numerous scientific publications (see for example ECCV 08, CIVR 09, CVPR 10) and the development of several demos:

In collaboration with the LEAR researchers, the engineer will design and implement algorithms and demonstrators for large-scale image indexing as well as carry out evaluations on large-scale real world datasets provided by end users.

Skills and Profile

The position is offered at the "Rhone-Alpes" Research Unit of INRIA, located near Grenoble and Lyon, in France. The Unit includes more than 600 people, within 26 research teams and 10 support services. Grenoble is a lively city which hosts many foreign students and researchers. Located in the heart of the French Alps its direct surroundings offer great outdoor recreation including skiing, cycling, and hiking. Paris can be reached from Grenoble in 3h by train.
