Human Detection and Character Recognition
For the final project of my master studies, I worked on the detection of humans in video and the recognition of specific actors/characters. This work was in supervision of Rainer Herpers and Cordelia Schmid. You can download my master thesis and the presentation slides for the defense on the given publication site.
The following are the final results on a supervised approach to human detection and character recognition. Note that temporal information has not been employed (neither for human detection, nor for character recognition), the results were obtained processing each frame of a video independently. I used three different body part detectors: face, head, head&shoulders. They have been visualized as follows:
