I have now completed my doctoral work, and defended my thesis on September 27th, 2010. It has been supervised by Cordelia Schmid and Jakob Verbeek. My research efforts aimed at multimodal information retrieval, in other words the study of the relationships between visual and textual descriptions of landscapes, objects or people.
