Things to do in and near Nice

Nice has plenty of tourist attractions including interesting Old Town and port areas and a large, safe family beach (unfortunately of pebbles not sand). The region has long been home to famous artists, with world-class museums dedicated to Matisse and Chagall in Nice, and Picasso's villa in nearby Antibes, among others. Those who want to pretend to be movie stars can visit Antibes or Cannes, which both have good sand beaches.

It has a rich Mediterranean culture with picturesque mediaeval town centres and a strong tradition of open air dining and concerts. And if the Côte is too lively for you, the region behind is rugged, scenic and unspoilt.
